Travel day and transfers

Travel days are the beginning and end dates of the programme (arrival Sunday 19th May, departure Sunday 26th May). Your holistic bootcamp programme will begin on the morning following your arrival.

We can arrange for our minibus driver to transfer you from Dalaman airport to Huzur Vadisi. The transfer cost of approximately £40pp return is an average guide price. The price can vary depending on numbers of transfer trips and passengers so you may wish to check with The House of Yoga about flights to keep your transfer costs down.

It is worth considering flights that include 1 stop as the prices are often far less. We advise you to arrive at Huzur vadisi no later than Sunday afternoon/early evening, as the programme will begin early the following morning.

Please make sure we have your flight number and arrival time so that transfers can be arranged well in advance and everyone informed. It’s important for us to have your flight number in case of delayed flights.

NB If you are flying with Turkish Airlines or Pegasus from Istanbul please let us know if you are an international transfer passenger, or if you have been staying over in Istanbul. It makes a difference to which terminal you exit from in Dalaman, domestic or international.

Travel Insurance

It is a condition of booking for participants take out travel insurance to cover cancellation and other eventualities.

New passport and visa regulations

Anyone travelling to Turkey is now required to purchase an online visa before entering the country – this can be purchased from the following website: www.evisa.gov.tr (As opposed to buying a visa stamp at the airport) The fee is $20 USD. The visa needs to be printed and taken with you to show at passport control. Your passport needs to be valid for a further six months from the date you arrive in Turkey.

What flight should I book?

There are several companies flying to Turkey. Our local airport is Dalaman. www.flythomascook.com www.easyjet.com www.turkishairlines.com www.britishairways.com. Skyscanner.net will show you the best available fares. You may wish to consider a flight with 1 stop to keep costs down.

Please note you will need to arrive by the evening of Sunday 19th May at the latest, as we start our first session at 7am the following morning.

How can I book a transfer?

Please contact studiomanager@thehouseofyoga.co.uk to arrange your transfer.

I’m a beginner to yoga, is this suitable for me?

Yes, absolutely. All of our classes are accessible to all levels.

Is there wifi onsite?

Yes wifi will be available, however we encourage you to switch off for the duration of your stay and enjoy every present moment in your beautiful surroundings.

Telephones and communications
Our telephone number is 00 90 (0)252 644 0008

You may want to let your family and friends know that the phone at Huzur Vadisi can only be used to receive incoming international calls. You won’t be able to use the phone to call them. You are very welcome to give the number to receive calls.

Mobile Phones
There is mobile connection at Huzur Vadisi.

As we are oriented to outdoor living in addition to your usual summer clothing, yoga things and swimming costume, it’s advisable to bring a set of warm clothing – a sweater, leggings, waterproof jacket and socks – although normally warm and sunny, if it rains it can feel cool. Bring an extra layer for early morning yoga too.

Hairdryers & Plugs

To answer one of our most frequently asked questions – there are plugs for your hairdryer in the yurts! Turkey has 2-pin plugs, so you will need to bring an adaptor.

What food preferences do you cater for (meat/ vegetarian/ vegan)?

We can cater for people with food allergies or intolerances, although please note gluten free flours and bread are not yet available locally in Turkey, nor are the usual substitutes for dairy i.e. tofu and other soya ‘dairy’ products. Imported soya milk is available and can be provided for people with dairy intolerance, but we don’t provide it simply as a preference.

We suggest bringing gluten free bread or snacks, or any other specialities with you if you think you’ll need them. We can keep any dietary items you may bring in the fridge if required.

The diet is vegetarian by default, but we offer fish or chicken once or twice during the week if the group requests it, but we don’t cater for meat, chicken or fish on an individual basis.

If you have an allergy to a particular ingredient, let us know, and a separate dish can be made for you.

If you have a severe reaction to an allergen, in which a very small amount i.e. on a kitchen knife or surface can trigger a reaction, we cannot guarantee to be free of cross contamination.

Arriving early or staying on
If arriving early, Gocek is a good place to stay from where you can be easily collected on one of the transfers. Your hotel will pick you up from the airport if you ask. We will let you know details our pick up times from the hotel closer to your departure, or you can just take a taxi if you prefer, but please let us know. Gocek is a charming, small yachting resort only half an hour from Dalaman airport, with a laid back atmosphere, good shopping and nice places to eat.

Other Gocek hotels can be found on www.Booking.com with reviews and recommendations.

Currency Exchange
Generally you will get a better rate of exchange in Turkey. This can be done with cash or withdrawn by card from one of the several ATM cash machines in Gocek. There is also an ATM at the foot of the exit ramp at the airport.

Extras at Huzur Vadisi and payments
Extras at Huzur Vadisi include transfers, massage sessions, bar bills, excursions, and items from our shop.
These are all paid for at the end of your stay.
There is a self-service honesty book system in the bar and shop.

Your bill can be paid in sterling, lira or euro but cash only.
We regret we don’t have credit card or UK cheque facilities in Turkey.

Massage Treatments are available with our excellent therapist at €60 per hour.

How much money will I need?
Most people spend between of £100 – £200 on extras, which include transfers (approx. £40 depending on numbers), boat trip (£50), massage, trips to town, drinks, or shopping.
