Our training is designed to be immersive yet manageable alongside work and family life.

  • Schedule: 8 weekends spread over 7 months

  • Additional learning: Momentum calls, personal practice, and guided homework
Together, these add up to 200 hours of in-depth training.

  • YTT 200 simply means a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training course.

  • RYT 200 means Registered Yoga Teacher 200-hour, which is the international standard recognised when you register with Yoga Alliance after successfully completing your training.

  • 200-hour YTT: The foundational training for anyone beginning their teaching journey or wishing to deepen their practice.

  • 300-hour YTT: An advanced training, usually taken after your 200-hour, that allows you to progress to RYT 500 status with Yoga Alliance.

If you’re brand new to teaching, the 200-hour teacher training programme is the essential first step.

To become an RYT 200, you’ll need to:

  1. Successfully complete a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training with a Yoga Alliance–registered school (The House of Yoga Trainings is registered with Yoga Alliance.)

  2. Apply to register with Yoga Alliance, submitting your certificate.

  3. Maintain your registration by following continuing education requirements.

Graduates often choose different paths:

  • Teaching: Starting classes in studios, gyms, workplaces, or privately.

  • Further study: Exploring advanced 300-hour trainings, or specialised trainings in areas such as yin, pregnancy yoga, or yoga therapy.

  • Personal growth: Deepening your own practice and integrating yoga philosophy into daily life.

The highest standard recognised by Yoga Alliance is E-RYT 500 (Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher 500 hours).
This means you’ve completed 500+ hours of training and logged extensive teaching experience.

To teach yoga in the UK you’ll generally need:

  • A 200-hour teacher training certificate from a reputable school

  • Public liability insurance (often available through professional yoga bodies)

  • A valid first aid certificate (recommended, sometimes required by venues)

The cost depends on the training provider and course format. In the UK, 200-hour trainings typically range from £2,500 to £3,500.
At The House of Yoga, the investment is £2,900 (or £2,700 with Early Bird discount).
